Sports First Aid Training Course

This one day Sports First Aid Training Course provides targeted first aid training for those who regularly come into contact with people who may become injured whilst involved in sporting activities. Candidates receive a certificate of attendance. The course is particularly suitable for:

• Teachers & other school staff
• Sports coaches
• Physiotherapists
• Parents
• Scout and Guide leaders
• Cricket umpires
• Football & rugby referees
• Other sports officials

The course covers the following topics:

• Aims & principles of first aid
• CPR
• Care of the Unconscious casualty
• Shock
• Bleeding (including nose bleeds)
• Soft tissue injury (Sprains and strains)
• Fractures and dislocations
• Head injuries
• Spinal injuries
• Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
