Basic Life Support

This is a 3 hour course designed to help individuals cope in an emergency situation.
It will enable candidates to assess a situation if they are the first on the scene of an accident.  It covers the following topic areas:

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Care of an unconscious  casualty (including seizures)
• Choking
• Management of bleeding
• How to call for an ambulance

Candidates receive a certificate of attendance.

Please note: This is run as an in-house course only, at your premises, for groups of individuals (e.g. sports clubs, scouting groups or parents etc).

When HTS offered to give some of our volunteers free basic first aid training I was extremely grateful. When patrolling the streets of Bedford late at night we often come across people in an unhealthy state and it is vital to know how to react whilst waiting for an ambulance. I was most impressed by the way that HTS tailored the training to meet our specific needs, for example we concentrated on injuries that excessive alcohol consumption could cause.

The training was incredibly easy to follow and went along at just the right pace, no-one got bored but at the same time no-one was left behind scratching their heads. The balance between a hands on approach and written material was also spot on, whats more we were given as many opportunities as we wished when practicing CPR. I have no doubt that some of our volunteers being equiped with this training will one day lead to a life being saved. I cannot thank HTS enough.
