Who is the First Aid at Work training course suitable for?
- All organisations with more than 50 staff
- Organisations with more than 5 staff that operate in hazardous environments or with hazardous materials (depending on level of hazard), such as:
- the construction industry
- engineering and manufacturing environments
- working with chemicals and other hazardous materials
- working with machinery or workplace transportation
- working at heights
- working with heavy goods
- any other environment with high hazards
- workplaces where staff have certain pre-existing conditions
- individuals who wish to have an in-depth first aid knowledge in order to respond to emergencies outside the workplace
I wanted to say how delighted we were with the standard of training provided to our group of warehouse supervisors recently and the excellent 100% pass rate! All 10 of the attendees passed and were absolutely delighted.
We have already booked some refresher training which will be taking place later in the year. Not only is the service excellent, but the rates are highly competitive

What's covered in the First Aid at Work training course?
The First Aid at Work training course covers the following topic areas:
- Acting safely and promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Preventing Cross infection, recording incidents and actions and use of available equipment
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Care of an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Choking
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Shock
- Minor injuries
- Musculo-skeletal injuries including fractures, sprains and strains
- Spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Severe burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning anaphylaxis
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Asthma
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
How is the First Aid at Work training course assessed?
There is a short assessment at the end of this first aid course. Following successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate, which will be valid for three years. Please note, the HSE also strongly recommend taking an annual half-day skills update course each year, between your full certificate renewals.
What does the First Aid at Work course cost?
In-house FAW course price: £1,375 + VAT (for up to 10 candidates).
Open FAW course price: £215 + VAT per candidate.
